22 March – World Water Day
Every year on March 22, World Water Day is marked to promote sustainable freshwater resource management and increase awareness of the value of clean water. At the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro, it was suggested to celebrate. The inaugural World Water Day is then observed in 1993.
